Do you remember what happened the last time I celebrated Inktober? No? Well, you’re not going to like it. You’re certainly not go to like this one. You see, a friend posted to Facebook a list of Inktober assignments, and being the smartass I am, I’ve taken on (synonym: stolen) those assignments despite my . . . “modest” drawing skills. Look, mine will be funnier, okay? I’d link to his (which are going to be much better), but he protects his tweets. You’ll have to settle for mine.

He’s drawing for a charity by offering his drawings for sale, the proceeds for which go to the Stillbrave Childhood Cancer Foundation. Noble, but my choice of charity is the JDRF. Day 11: Dark Shadows

Dark Shadows was before my time. It started before I was born and ended when I was 3, so I never saw it. I did see the 2012 film based on the TV series, so this is my drawing of what I remember.

He’s supposed to look shocked but instead came out sad. At least I was able to capture some emotion. Oh, and that’s supposed to be an argyle scarf.

Day 9: Salem’s Lot

This series of posts is exposing how little of a movie-going history I had back in the day. On top of that, my parents were too cheap for cable TV until it became commonplace. We didn’t even get a VCR until after most of my peers, and then it was a fight to rent the movie I wanted. (This hints at why Star Trek III is such a special movie to me, but I digress.) I never saw the original Salem’s Lot except for the ending. If I recall correctly, it came on while I was channel surfing, so I watched it. I did see the Rob Lowe miniseries once. Once.

He looks like a knock-off superhero wearing Hannibal Lecter’s mouthguard.
